Midland Downtown Farmers Market (MDFM)

How often are you open?


We are open EVERY Saturday year-round, rain or shine.

April - October: 8 AM – 12 PM
November - March: 9 AM – 12 PM


What does the vendor application process look like?


All applicants must make, grow, raise, or handcraft their products within 200 miles of Midland.

To become a vendor:


  1. Complete the MDFM Vendor Application 2025
     
  2. Upload all required documents
     
  3. Wait for official approval before vending
     

Incomplete applications will be denied.


How much do booth spaces cost?


  • $40 per Saturday for a single 10x10 booth
     
  • Payment is accepted Sunday through Thursday via PayPal
     
  • Electricity: +$10 if needed
     

What paperwork do I need to be a vendor?

Required for ALL Vendors


  • Business Liability Insurance
    (Can be purchased after acceptance but must be active before vending)
     

For Crafters & Non-Food Vendors


  • Texas Sales Tax ID
     

For Food Vendors (Cottage or Commercial Kitchen)


  • Food Handlers Certificate
     

For Animal Feed / Pet Food Vendors


  • Texas State Chemist Office License
     
  • Sales Tax Permit

My business makes food items. What do I need to become a vendor?


MDFM operates under Texas Cottage Food Law (SB 541).


Cottage Food Requirements:


  • Food Handlers Certificate
     
  • Proper labeling
     
  • Approved packaging
     
  • Products must qualify under Cottage Food Law
     

Ready-to-Eat or On-Site Foods:

Must meet Midland County Health Department requirements.

Health inspectors perform on-site market inspections during the season.

What do I need for Pet Food or Animal Feed?


You will need:

  • A current Texas State Chemist (TSC) license
     
  • Full compliance with TSC regulations
     
  • A Texas Sales Tax Permit
     

Once I submit my application, can I start vending?


No, Applications must be reviewed and officially approved before you can vend.


Submitting all required documents upfront helps speed up the process. All Vendors are Required to hold Liability insurance.


Can I sell products I didn’t make myself?


No, MDFM does not allow resale, wholesale, or MLM products.
All items must be:


  • Homegrown
     
  • Homemade
     
  • Handcrafted
     
  • Home-raised
     

within 100 miles of Midland.


I’m a local business or nonprofit, but I don’t qualify as a regular vendor. How can I get involved?


We proudly support community outreach through special booth options:


  • Nonprofit Booths
     
  • Community Service Booths
     
  • Educational Booths
     

These categories allow organizations to connect with the public even if they are not producing sellable goods.

    • Vendors must be approved before they can participate in MDFM. 
    • NO RESELL items. Vendors at MDFM must grow, pick, make, and/or create the items they sell.

    Approved Vendors Only - Booth Payments

    -Booth Payments of $40 are due Wednesdays prior to each Saturday's Farmers Market. 

    It is this amount each time you vend. 

    PayPal is used to collect payments. Use mdfmmarketdirector@gmail.com when asked who to send payment to. Always put your BOOTH NAME in the NOTES SECTION of your payment.
